This fact dawned on Mike and I last night as we traversed from center city to some sort of shaky outskirt.

This is for Mike. Sitting through an aesthetics class full of music majors and listening to them try to relate readings that are talking about visual art to music, is something that makes you want to assault everyone in the classroom. God knows I’ve been there before.

From the brains of a few good men comes a group of musicians and friends doing things the right way.
Keep an eye out for this…

For Biff’s Birthday I made him a poster for every band he’s been in. Here are a few of my favorites.

I’ve been playing bass with Quiltary on and off when I can since around June, and this is a tour that i’ll be accompanying them on which starts in two days. I was pretty pumped to make this poster.
If we happen to be playing around your parts for any of these dates, pop in.

I seriously love camping. I was just going to say I love it, but I added the “seriously” to let you know i was serious. I’ve been camping with my family pretty much my entire life. But the past three years Kirby and I have taken over as the parents and organized the trip with our friends. This year’s weekend just passed and it was the biggest group yet at twelve people. It was also arguably the best.
Anyway, there are photos all over facebook, and in looking Kevin’s album titled “Wilderness Explorers” it inspired me to make this.

During my time at Rowan I got hooked up with the alternative magazine Venue. I spent my first year with them helping out with graphics, and by the next year the position for art director opened up, which I ran for and was elected to. I really had a great time doing this. I had the privilege of sharing an apartment with the Editor in Chief, Dan, and I think between the two of us the magazine really progressed. In my year as director we put out three quality issues which I was lucky enough to have a heavy hand in designing and creating.

For those unfamiliar, River City Extension is the band I’ve been playing with the past few months. I recently decided that I need to depart from them as my role as banjo player. However, my final show will be at the Stone Pony at the end of August. It’s going to be a great show and it will be the right way to go out. If you can make it, you should.

Mike Walsh approached me about doing some posters for his band Therewolves and I was quite interested. The second of these will be featured in their upcoming 7 inch vinyl.

Algernon Cadwallader is consistently catchy and makes me feel good. If you aren’t listening to them already, start now. I made this for them.

Chalk Talk is a band I met about a month ago as they were touring through New Jersey. I had the pleasure of spending a night of tented sleepover fun with them, and not only are they a fun band, but great guys. Check them out. I made this for them.

And this is a flyer for a show that has already passed for a band that I’ve been playing with recently, River City Extension. If by somehow you’ve lived under a rock for the past year or so, and have no idea who they are fix that now.

In digging around some old files and folders I found a few posters I made and figured I would put them up on here.
This is a poster speaking against censorship in books.

This was a poster titled “Medical Miracles”

And this is of my friends Brett and Jane, based off of an W.H. Auden poem.

Back in March my roomate’s girlfriend, who was running the show, asked me to make a flyer for the Rowan production of Vagina Monologues. I agreed as long as I could do whatever I liked, which resulted in this.

Towards the end of my last semester, in talking with two of my good friends Michael Smith and Kevin Dixon, we wanted to exercise our thoughts with a visual campaign. The idea of “now” and creating your own outcome by being active spawned each of us to create a few posters all revolving around the same idea, which turned out thankfully all quite different. This project became known as Nom Now, with “nom” of course being the french word for name. Mine are below, and check out Kevin’s as well as his other work at www.kevdixon.com too much good stuff going on there.
